new bus in DC!
natface:
Hey DCites,
If you’re familiar with the 42 route, MTA just introduced the 43. It only goes from Mt Pleasant to Farragut Sq, but it goes under dreaded Dupont instead of through it. It’s a much faster commuter bus. Not sure how frequently it comes but I’m sure you can check it on Wmata.
Now if only they would run the H1 in regular hours, that would be awesome.
Best News.

…what about the book club? first book starting in January? any suggestions? one book a month? drinks and discussion?

Oh, drama. I forget that the internet has a mean streak. But, while I may be a bitch, I’m not an asshole, so here’s my explanation.
the Big Hunt is NOT a divey bar. Young people do not wholly work in the Dupont/Hill area— I work at Union, Izimbra works near R St I think, etc etc. As for a mean streak, who was the one who commented rather rudely on something a few people...

On my way back from Harris Teeter, about a block away, police had sectioned off a part of the street. I, being dopey, was like, I can’t get back to where I live cos I don’t know the way, officer, wink (he was cute). The dude was like, guy’s been shot. Please find an alternate route.
Shit, yo. They had all these dogs that were barking and all of a sudden a woman and a man came running...

Book Clubs in DC?
I want to join a book club. Does anyone know of any that exist? I like how some people can talk to their friends about the latest episode of The Office or Project Runway or whatever. But I don’t watch TV, I just read. So something like that. I know my Grandmother is part of a book club. If they’re all full of 80-year-old retired librarians like her, that would be awesome!
