Thank the Lord!  On the other hand, beware of camera crews and fame whores at Russia House, Saint-Ex and Bar Pilar.

Oh man, we have the same story! I moved back to the DC area from NYC about a year ago and have been dying without cheap tasty falafels.

Where’s the Maoz storefront in Dupont?

Free burgers for Father's Day

The folks at Z Burger in Tenleytown e-mailed me yesterday with a promotion they’re running for Father’s Day. If you come into their restaurant on Sunday with your dad and say, “Dad, you’re Z best!” they’ll give your dad a free cheeseburger or veggie burger and milkshake. AND 10% of the proceeds for that day are going to Hope House, a non-profit organization that was designed to help bridge the gap between children and their incarcerated parents.  I’ve actually never eaten there, but if they’re doing something this awesome, it’s well worth a visit.

Z Burger is located at 4321 Wisconsin Ave NW.

This Twitter homage (“Fail Rail” instead of Fail Whale) by brhefele to Metro’s constant delay problems nearly makes the inconvenience cute.
the inconvenience is NOT cute.

The Real World comes to DC →

guy:

At long last, MTV’s The Real World is coming to Washington. We’re still deciding if we should be excited or terrified, but we do know that after 22 seasons of the show, it’s about time the cameras and binge-drinking twentysomethings descended on our fair city. Filming is said to start June 20.

That show is still on? Amazing.

Considering only the title, is this even possible?

If this is true, that’s unfortunate. I mean they’re okay, but…

I miss Taim. And when the FUCK is Maoz opening in Dupont.

The “Best Falafel in DC” series is more of a search for DC’s best falafel — I should know, I’m the writer — and up to this point, while it’s amongst the better ones I’ve had in DC, it’s definitely just okay. Maoz is amazing, though and needs to get here ASAP. They have one Philly, and THREE in New York, but none in DC? Foolishness.
