Dark Knight at the Uptown

I just purchased tickets with a bunch of friends for the midnight showing of The Dark Knight at the uptown. If anyone else is attending post a comment, it’d be cool to meet up.

WHAT: Washington is moving towards a greener future and we are each becoming increasingly concerned about the impacts our lifestyle have on the environment, and many are seeking alternatives. This month, thanks to Michael Kiefer, a local green activist and realtor, we are meeting at one of DC’s newest Green Buildings, Lofts 11. Lofts 11 boasts an array of sustainable features such as a green roof, recycled countertops, tinted low e-glass, energy star package, passive solar design, high efficiency furnace, dual flush toilets, steps to 3 Metro stops and more.

In addition Neil Takemoto of “Cool Town Studios” & Michael Kiefer will be discussing several new initiatives taking place in Washington to bring affordably built  “green building” to the masses in an approach that is entirely unique.

Y’all know I love me some Mark Bittman.  He’s outdone himself again, and just in time for all those garden parties on the Cape!

(I also wrote about this on ffffood.)

I see many of these recipes working for a Screen on the Green picnic.

Do I dare throw out the Tumblr Meet-Up idea?

How fucking rude.

This is something my girlfriend suggested she and I do, not as a WashingTron meetup. Thanks for picking something up and shitting all over it.

In fact, please don’t go to that event. Ever.

Oh, and btw, you spelled “conditioning” wrong.

Whoa whoa whoa. Hold on buddy. A) I wasn’t trying to “shit” all over anything. I suppose some good-natured jesting is lost in text? I mean, it’s obviously supposed to read as totally biased. Perhaps I should have added LOLZ at the end? Or am I just really FAILsville with the funny? B) I did not suggest it as a meet-up, I was responding to it as a suggestion for a meet-up. C) I can’t even spell “their” right half the time (not even joking) so I completely accept the burn on spelling.

So I guess this means you’re not coming to the next meetup, huh?

Let’s be clear here. This was MY* idea to do a Tumblr meet-up at one of these Jazz nights. So if there’s going to be a Tumblr Rumbl(r?) - aim it in my direction kids.

By posting this on the internets, it becomes an open forum and you can’t think that someone won’t pick up on the idea (brills, btw) to do something fun and different. And if we have a silly back-and-forth about it than so be it. This was not in any way shape or form intended to be “shitting” on Jazz in the Garden. I lurve Jazz in the Garden.  It was simply playful banter.  PLAYFUL. FUCKING. BANTER.

It seems silly that I’m even having to respond to an obviously 100% non-binding survey.

I don’t understand how these things escalate so quickly and end in a lot of extremely rude comments.  I sincerely want to hang with all you awesome people I follow, but when you start being malicious without valid provocation, I just can’t sit back.  You know who you are Fiery Aura.

I’m sorry that I started such a shit storm, not because of hurt feeling (or whatever) - but because I thought us WashingtRons were above this. I mean, we’re in DC for Christ’s sake. Isn’t there enough pitiful drama around town?

Seriously guys. Chillax please.

*aagresh[at]gmail[dot]com if you’d like to pick on me some.

poll: where do you live?

I’ll be looking for new (bigger) places in the next few months to accomodate me, a big dog, two cats, and a boy.

Right now i”m at 13th and Mass.  Where are you?

Why have we all not gone to this before? My sister said it’s a great time: live music, full open bar in the cafe, and pitchers of Sangria. Plus, people bring blankets and picnic baskets. This would be a great (affordable) way to unwind on a Friday summer afternoon. Lets make it happen.

I love this…great idea.

I smell WashingtRon Tumblr Meet-Up!!!

Seriously. Let’s do this.

Ditto. This would be a great meet up. I would go.

I went to this once a couple of years ago…It was pretty cool.  Meet-up please!

I’m already posturing for a horrible time. Outside meetups in summer in DC make baby jesus (and me) cry.

D.C. gets a new prostitution scandal

briandrew:

Two Metro employees have been arrested in a prostitution sting, after an internal investigation found the two using the Dupont Circle station as a way to setup “dates.”
[Pam Goins, a Metro custodian] told the officer she would have sex with him for $200, and the two agreed to meet in the officer’s hotel room later in the week, after Goins grabbed his crotch and made several references to sexual acts she wanted to perform with him, records show.
The officer was also offered a threesome for a grand.

At one point the station’s loudspeaker system was even used as part of their prostitution ring, and Metro is looking into whether or not any other employees were involved.

I wonder if this will kind of go nowhere like the D.C. firehouse prostitution scandal.

That silly red line.

Birthday ideas?

My 22nd is coming up and I’d like to celebrate in DC. Does anybody have any ideas on what to do? I celebrated my 21st in New York and that was a blast but I doubt it’s in the cards this year. I’d like to maybe have a nice private dinner and then go out with close friends. I thought about the dinner and drink cruises they leave from Georgetown, but I’ve never been on one. Any thoughts in regards to that or are there better alternatives?

Any input you have is greatly appreciated! :)

Hey, I just wanted to tell ya’ll that I’m moving to DC. I think I found an apartment this weekend! So, the point of telling you this mostly is to thank you for the Tumblr meet-up, and you guys fuckin’ suck ;)
